How to get there

Just 20 minutes from the capital, the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira is an easily and quickly accessible destination.

If your starting point is Porto, take the A1 southbound. From Faro take the Via do Infante, then the A2 and A12 to Lisbon, taking advantage of the Vasco da Gama Bridge. From Lisbon take the A1 (northbound) to Vila Franca de Xira.

The rest of the route is accessible by road and train. Boa Viagem and Carris Metropolitana serve our municipality, among others, and CP – Comboios de Portugal, via the Sintra and Azambuja line and the connection to the Cascais line at Alcântara-Mar/Alcântara-Terra station, brings you to the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira. On the CP you can also take your bicycle free of charge if you wish. These means of transport can take you through the interior of the municipality, as well as along the National Road 10, which serves the municipality, allowing you to enjoy the different landscapes and reach the vast architectural heritage that makes up the whole area.
